Job Summary:
Are you passionate about giving care and find yourself getting fulfillment from helping others in need? We have the perfect opening for a passionate and driven Certified Nursing Assistant. The CNA Floater provides homemaking and personal care services, essential to health care at home to assist in helping a client remain in their place of residence. The Floater provides hands-on personal care to clients, per state regulations under direction and supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse. The Floater will work from a daily or weekly assignment of clients and serve on a temporary basis to meet the last minute needs left unstaffed or starting new services for clients enrolling. The floater will work on a team closely with care coordinators and the RN to create the best client experiences possible.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8a-5p; Every other weekend;
Base Pay: $17-$19 per hour

Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Include, but are not limited to the following):
In regards to client care the Floater shall:
  • Fill in assigned open shifts on a temporary basis
  • Start care on new clients and establish their care regime.
  • Mentor and train new caregivers to the company and/or on new clients.
  • Provide light Housekeeping (e.g. vacuum, dishes, laundry, changing linens, trash disposal) to maintain the home in an optimum state of cleanliness and safety.
  • Provide companionship and socialization to the client which may include: Spending time with individual, playing games, cards, reading, watching television, or accompanying trips and outings.
  • Use agency approved methods for appropriate work documentation.
  • Report any unusual incidents or changes in the client’s behavior, condition or circumstances to the Supervisor, immediately.
  • Provide hands-on in home assistance with personal care services as specified in the Care/Service Plan which may require extensive assistance and include but not be limited to:
    • ADL assistance as directed: bathing, grooming, feeding, continence care, and toileting
    • Help client with transferring and lifting, raising clients in beds and turning clients
    • Obtain Vital signs on clients whose medical conditions warrants such monitoring. (blood pressure, temperature, urine samples, weights, intake/output)
    • Transport, escort or accompany client by providing or arranging transportation to places outside of the residence for appointments, entertainment, exercise, recreation, shopping or social activities.
    • Meal preparation
    • Home management – meal planning, shopping, budgeting, bill paying
  • Maintains confidentiality of information relating to patient.
  • Complete other duties as directed within scope of practice.
 
In regards to the agency, Royalty Adult & Pediatric Home Care, the CNA Floater will:
  • Complete appropriate documentation according to the Agency policies.
  • Attend all mandatory in-service programs and staff meetings.
  • Comply with Homecare Agency:
    • Compliance Plan.
    • Infection Control Policies.
    • HIPAA Policies.
    • All other company policies procedures and requirements
  • Comply with state regulations.
  • Have accountability to their supervisor for all assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information relating to sensitive company.

Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must pass drug screening
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Have valid motor vehicle insurance.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
  • Able to lift 120 pounds or more.
  • Extensive Travel and flexibility required.
  • TB Skin Test
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Annual Flu Vaccine
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain and maintain
  • NC Certified Nursing Assistant I Required
  • NC Certified Nursing Assistant II Preferred
  • Experience providing support services in Long Term care, skilled nursing facility or a similar environment preferred
  • Caring attitude and genuine interest in people.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform a combination of sitting and standing for short and extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working various shifts with various patients and willingness to be flexible
  • Able to utilize basic electronic services to document patient care
